Just 15 days after Shri Krishna Janmashtami, the birth anniversary of Shri Radha is celebrated as Radha Ashtami. Radhaji was born on the Ashtami of Bhadrapada Shukla Paksha. According to the Panchang, this time Ashtami date started on 3rd September at 12.25 pm. At the same time, this date will end on 4th September, Sunday at 10:40 am. In such a situation, according to Udaya Tithi, the festival of Radha Ashtami will be celebrated on 4th September.

According to Brahmavaivarta Purana, Radhaji is also eternal and unborn like Shri Krishna. She was the daughter of Vrishabhanu Vaishya in Brij. Shri Radha was born in a village called Rawal located near Gokul. He was not born from the mother's womb, but Mother Kirti had carried Vayu in her womb and Kirti gave birth to Vayu by the inspiration of Yogamaya.

But with the birth of Vayu, Radha appeared in the form of a girl, hence Sri Radha Rani is called Goddess Ayonija. Later she moved to Barsana with her father Brishabhanu and mother Kirti. It is also said that when Brahm took the form of Shri Krishna, his superpower form Shri Radha appeared from the part of the Lord. At that time, Shri Radha herself went into meditation after establishing her shadow in the house.

Shri Krishna Himself says that I follow the one who takes the name Radha. So Lord Shri Krishna remains under him. Describing the divine and supernatural form of Radha, the scriptures have said that as Shri Krishna is Brahmarupa beyond the nature of Trigun Maya and development, similarly Shri Radha is Brahmaswaroopa away from nature. The reason for Shri Krishna's Ananda Kanda form is Shri Radha. On the full moon day of Kartik, Shri Krishna worshiped Radha in the Rasamandal of Goloka. Keeping Radha-Kavach in a Gutika of exquisite gems, Shri Krishna along with the gopas held it in his throat and right arm. After meditating and eulogizing him with devotion, he himself ate the chewed tambul of Radha.

By keeping a fast on this day, after bathing the Deity of Radha with Panchamrit, make her wear beautiful clothes and ornaments and perform her aarti. One should chant Shri Radha Mantra 'Om Radhayi Swaha'. Radhaji is the form of Shri Lakshmi, so worshiping her brings wealth and opulence. By chanting the name of Radha one gets the blessings of Shri Krishna very soon.
